PLASTIC GOURMET
NAME: | PLASTIC GOURMET |
AWARDS: | HONORABLE MENTION |
DIRECTOR: | PETER KUHTZ |
A mysterious seaman cooks plastic-polluted fish meals in a gloomy ship’s kitchen in the middle of a storm on the ocean.
“For this short film, I built a ship’s kitchen on a tilting platform to create the illusion of a real ship and want to raise awareness about plastic pollution in our oceans.”
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY – PETER KUHTZ
After about 200 concerts as a guitarist of a German rock band and my work as an audio engineer, I noticed my passion for filmmaking.
Meanwhile I’ve been working as a freelance filmmaker for almost ten years, shooting commercials and music videos for some well-known German artists.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
To realise the dream of my own short film, I turned down several paid jobs as a filmmaker to take a few months just for my project “Plastic Gourmet”.
So I rented a production hall, bought materials and built a ship’s kitchen on a tilting platform to create the illusion of a real ship in a storm in the middle of the ocean.
Now the short film is ready and I’m excited to share it with you.
With the film I want to draw attention to the worldwide plastic pollution of the oceans.
For this short film I have given everything I have learned in the last ten years as a filmmaker and hope to inspire, motivate and excite many people with my project.
