DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Darwin’s Fox is about what’s important in life. The things that are so close to us, but sometimes we are unable to see them, or have unlearned to recognize them.
This story is about a father who is so caught up in wanting to prove to the world that he is right about the existence of an extinct fox, that he is unable to see the most important thing in his life: his son.
Trying hard to get recognized by his dad, the son eagerly wants to get his fathers attention and approval, but because of his fathers lack of attention and love the son then goes to the extreme to get accepted.
Darwin’s fox is a drama about being a father and the importance of recognizing your kids and that it might not be as important to succeed in your job, but rather being there for your loved ones, when they need you the most.
But tragically sometimes we cannot see the forest before the trees…
